Money troubles part II [26 Mar 2007|01:35pm]

[ mood | stressed ]

Okay, so I just found out I have another two hundred dollars to pay off to the government because they aren't taking enough money out of my pay checks at work.

I have a lot of things I have to pay for, and after that's done I'm not sure where I'll stand... so we might have to make a significant cutback on the trip and change our resort. I need everyone's opinion on this.

I really would prefer not to change the resort because it will make the trip slightly less awesome, and because it's going to be a lot of trouble to change from one resort to two rooms at another one... but if it ends up that way then so be it.

I just wish there was some other way I could get the money, but as it is I'm bleeding myself dry for this trip, and I don't even know if I'll be able to afford my own ticket. n.n;

Rehab [12 Mar 2007|01:41pm]

[ mood | sad ]

No, not me!

Sometimes Disney attractions or restaurants have to undergo refurbishment, and unfortunately it sometimes takes place during a trip to visit the parks. Laurie and Alia probably recall not being able to ride Pirates of the Caribbean because they were adding some new elements to the ride during our trip in 2006. I just checked the list to see what we would be missing out on this trip, and I'm afraid I have bad news. :\

It looks like we won't be eating sushi while gazing out over Epcot, as the Matsu no Ma Lounge is going to be undergoing it's refurbishment until July! Because of this a change has been made to the schedule and instead of eating lunch here as planned we will be eating at the little cafe outside of Akershus. Don't worry, their food is delicious!

Also, and here's the worst one: The Haunted Manshion is closed for refurbishment until AUGUST!!! It's terrible!! I'm so sad about this.... but what can we do? T.T

Money issues [10 Mar 2007|02:27pm]

[ mood | stressed ]

Okay, a few changes to the trip here, so pay close attention!

Due to recent events, we have a change in the guest line up. Taking the vacant sixth slot will be my delightful cousin, Bridget! That's the positive news. ^.^;

On the downside, we still have $3937 to pay off on the room. I did some calculating and if I save up ALL of the next 6 pay checks I get, I'll be able to pay it off. Obviously that's going to be an immense strain on myself, and I also have to worry about my traffic tickets and getting my car repaired so that it can pass emissions. ~.~ So does anyone have any idea of something we could do to earn some extra cash? I've thought of selling stuff on ebay, and my dad has mentioned before that he could take care of running the auctions because he uses ebay all the time. I just need to gather some things to sell. If anyone has some stuff you'd like to contribute, like old clothes or jewelry or just about anything (it is ebay), I could really use the help. I know everyone is busy, but if you can thing of any way to earn some money, please post it here so we can discuss it further!

Anyway, the trip is only 97 days away now. Can you believe it? Don't forget about your park tickets! <3

THE 2007 TRIP ITINERARY [22 Jan 2007|01:03pm]

[ mood | hungry ]

I would recommend printing this out at some point, if you're able to.

Here is a day by day plan of where we'll be, what we'll eat and what time these things will most likely be occuring. I've also included links to the menus of the places we'll be dining at, just click on the restaurant's name. <3 The times for meals are sometimes very approximate, that just means that those are the exact times for reservations that they had available to me when I made the dinner reservations. Most days I don't have breakfast scheduled because we can always stop by the concierge lounge to grab a quick something on our way out to the parks.

Also, the Segway Tour is NOT officially scheduled yet. In order to schedule the tour I need to make a $480 deposit the moment I book it... that's $80 per person. Obviously I'm not in a position to do that considering I'm saving up all my money for the room so I really need $80 for everyone as soon as you can get it to me. If we're unable to get reservations for the tour, then we'll be putting our $80 towards tickets to seeing La Nouba on our "free day".

HERE WE GO...!Collapse )

Dining reservations complete! [12 Jan 2007|07:05pm]

[ mood | hungry ]

Thankfully, I was able to get reservations for every meal I had planned, including the Princess Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall!

So I'll hopefully be posting an itinerary soon. <3

Backpack update [25 Dec 2006|03:01pm]

[ mood | cheerful ]

Okay, I'm about to ask you guys to do a vote, so I really really need everyone to respond to this as soon as possible.

I've been trying to figure out what kind of backpacks I should get for everyone to use on the trip, but after I lost out on the original bags I'd picked out, I haven't been able to find a good replacement. So now I'm going to list the ones I HAVE found and ask for you guys to tell me which are your favorites.

Mickey Mouse Plush Bag:

I know everyone frowned on my idea for a plush Mickey Mouse bag because they said that there wouldn't be enough room, but if you look at the enlarged images of this one, it seems to have a faily roomy pocket space on the back. It's at least big enough to fit an autograph book and a wallet, from what I can tell. I've found cute matching wallets with Mickey on them that could go in the bags as well.

Disney Princess Bag:

These are drawstring bags, and would be able to fit more than the plush backpack. They also come in black, and my plan for these was to get three pink ones for Laurie, Jaime and me and three black ones for Enne, Alia and Katy. All six princesses are on the back, and they're canvas, so they should be fairly durable. I could also purchase matching wallets to go in them that would carry all your money and your important cards, like tickets and room keys.

Disney Princess Bags from Disney World:

Those of you who went on the trip last summer might remember these bags from the princess shop at the World of Disney store. If I got these bags I would get two of each of the different styles. They're drawstring just like the other princess bags I listed, but I'm not sure what material they're made out of. I think I remember it being some sort of slick nylon like stuff.

Charm It! Bag:

This bag is new and they sell it at Disney World, apparently. It has a cool little chain around the heart on the back that you can hook charms onto. It's made of denim, so it should be fairly durable. It would probably be able to hold the most items out of all of the bags.

So there you go. Give me feedback. I demand it!!!

Letter from the Boardwalk [21 Dec 2006|09:04pm]

[ mood | blah ]

I just got a letter in the mail today from the Boardwalk Inn detailing how their concierge cast members are banding together to prepare us the ultimate itinerary for our trip. At first I was really confused as to why I was being sent the letter because they definitely didn't send us anything like it last year, but then I realized that it's because we're fancy schmancy concierge guests this year. Oo la la! Anyway, I need to fill out some stuff on the letter and send it back to them or something, but they have a spot on it where I can reserve a priority seating at THREE character meal restaurants of MY choice. Ho ho ho. I love Disney. <3

Schedule in the makings [01 Dec 2006|05:53pm]

[ mood | busy ]

Disney has now posted the park operational dates for June 2007, so I've begun the arduous task of making our trip schedule. Unfortunately they still haven't posted whether the extra magic hours they have listed on particular days are morning or night hours, which is a crucial piece of information for me to have. So I've written down the dates and park hours for the days of our trip, including what days the magic hours are supposed to be in effect.

So yeah. I have 15 days until I need to start calling to make our dining/tour reservations, so please keep your eyes on this group so that I can get everyone's opionion as soon as possible if I have any quetions. Also, now would be the time to post any requests for things that you ABSOLUTELY want to do while we're there. I'm doing this trip all for you guys and my goal is for this to be the best trip ever, for everyone coming. In order to do that, I really want to be sure that you all get to do everything you want, so if you have a dream in your heart, share it with me! <3

Disney Party [29 Nov 2006|02:30pm]

[ mood | hungry ]

My Disney Parks dvd finally came in the mail, chock full of fun and fancy free information about vacationing in Disney World, so the plan is to have a party this December when everyone is home for winter break. We'll watch the dvd, eat food and play Disney Scene It. Also, I have some Disney gifts to give everyone!

So I basically need to know when everyone will be available so that we can plan for a certain day where everyone will be there. Also, I need to know so that I can ask that day off as soon as possible.

Please post what your availability will be this winter break! Thank you! <3

Trip Tours? [13 Nov 2006|02:44pm]

[ mood | anxious ]

I thought it might be fun to take a tour this year, aside from the Behind the Seeds tour at Future World in Epcot, of course. The tours do cost extra, but the price varies by the tour.

I looked up some information on tours at my favorite planning site, allearsnet.com, and here are the best looking tours for our group. PLEASE COMMENT. PLEASE. SOMEONE. ANYONE. COMMENT.

Magic Update [10 Nov 2006|01:41am]

[ mood | cold ]

Hello again! Just a small update about some fun new things that will be going on at the parks during our trip in celebration of "The Year of a Million Dreams"!

I picked up this little article from wdwinfo.com:

Dream Along with Mickey

This show is part of the 'Year of a Million Dreams' Promotion. Taking place in the forecourt of Cinderella's Castle, 'Dream Along with Mickey' features everyone's favorite Mouse and Disney characters. This dream inspired show touches on "Happily Ever After" as well as dreams of exciting adventures.

This show actually focuses on Donald Duck (who once again, does not get top billing, same as with Mickey's PhilharMagic.) The Disney characters join in helping Donald realize his dreams. Minnie, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty are among the talented performers.

A villain that is rarely seen outside of the parades is part of this production. Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent is intent on turning Donald's dreams into nightmares. As with every great Disney tale, good conquers evil and the result is a fun, character filled finale.

'Dream Along with Mickey' is performed daily. Check the park schedule for the day's performances.

The beautiful Cinderella Castle, with a few familiar faces
Princess Aurora and Prince Philip
Is he checking her out? o.o
Snow White gets some action XD
My favorite couple <3
They're so cute!
Okay, so the show is really about Donald...
God, he looks heavy. o.o
So Maleficent apparetly really has something against Mickey Mouse...!
Somehow the gang saves the day again in the end!

So yes, I think this show should definitely be on our list of things to do at the Magic Kingdom. I mean, it has Mickey in it... so that's good enough for me. XD

Trip theme [07 Nov 2006|02:11am]

[ mood | excited ]

Okay, since the trip theme for last summer was centered mostly around the "Fab 5" (Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and Donald) I was thinking that our trip "theme" this year could be about the princesses. That said, I have some trip related presents I want to get for everyone, but first I need everyone to kind of "pick a princess"(you know, the same way we've picked a Care Bear). There's a lot of discrepencies as to "who is actually a princess" and "who isn't", so I've made up a short list of who the most popular, ACTUAL princesses are.

Snow White

I'll go ahead and pick Ariel (big shocker there) for my princess persona. I'm making this deal first come first serve, so just know that if you're the last to respond here, you probably won't get to pick your first choice for princess.

Um... that's it. So... get to picking! =P

Ticket Information [05 Nov 2006|01:32pm]

[ mood | cold ]

Since everyone is responsible (mostly) for their own tickets this year, I picked up some helpful links that you all might want to take a look at, especially Katy and Jaime. <3

(general ticket information)

(we will most likely be getting the 7 day park hopper with expiration, and if you purchase it early online or at the Disney Store, then it will be $264.12)

(information about the "ticket tag" system)

So there you go. Don't forget that I offered to cover $100 for anyone who isn't sure they can afford the whole ticket cost!

THE room update [05 Nov 2006|02:29am]

[ mood | cold/sick ]

That's right girls. The trip is official, because WE NOW HAVE A ROOM.

Please take a look at some pictures of said room here:

View From Entrance (look familiar to anyone)?
View From Balcony
Queen Bed
View Of Beds Towards Balcony
View Of Beds Towards Entrance
Dresser (near entrance) With Coffee Maker
Armoire With Table And Chairs
Armoire Open With TV
Closet With Complimentary Robes

The 2nd Armoire Opened

Yes, I know what you're all thinking... "that's not a room at one of the All Star Value resorts, is it??"

NO! It sho ain't, my sweet chillins. That would be a DELUXE CONCIERGE room at the beloved Boardwalk Inn. Yes, concierge.

Concierge service offers deluxe rooms with added amenities such as: robes, TV speaker in the bathroom, deluxe nightly turn down service, continental breakfast buffet, English style tea in the afternoon, and wine, cheese, and cordials in the evening. Most rooms are on the 4th floor. NOTE: Concierge rooms are NOT designated as smoking or nonsmoking.Concierge level guests have their own private lounge and private access. Epcot's IllumiNations can be seen nightly from the balcony in the Concierge Lounge.

The Concierge Lounge "Innkeeper's Club " hours of service are: Continental Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m.; Refreshments from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tea and Sweets from 3 to 4:30 p.m.; Wine and Cheese Selections from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Cordials and Desserts from 7 to 9 p.m.

Those of you who came along on the trip last summer might remember the Innkeeper's Club. It was that really ornate room with a bar that was on the right as we would be heading out into the lobby each morning to get to a park. If you can't remember what I'm talking about, and for those of you who weren't there last summer, take a look at these:

Main Desk Entrance
Lounge Entrance From Inside
Lounge Table And Chairs
Four Person Table
Sitting Area Daytime I
Sitting Area Daytime II
Sitting Area Daytime III
Sitting Area Daytime IV
Sitting Area At Night I
Sitting Area At Night II
Serving Area
Beverage Stand
Coffee (Katy's smiling right now) And Tea (Jaime's smiling)!
Afternoon Snacks
Afternoon Beverages (can anyone tell what these are)?
Early Evening Wine And Cheese (Laurie is smiling now too)!
Evening Cordials (Enne is smiling)
And sweets! (I know everyone is freaking smiling for this one)
Concierge sitting area (outside lounge)

And for Katy and Jaime, I strongly recommend taking a look at these two pages:
Boardwalk Inn Photos
Boardwalk Inn Fact Sheet

All right. So there you have it.

Questions? Comments? Words of praise?

The battle of the resorts! [21 Aug 2006|02:23am]

[ mood | contemplative ]

All right, so after a week full of emails back and forth between Kim and myself, we've narrowed things down to either a MK view room at the Polynesian or a 10th floor room at the Contemporary which will face Bay Lake, meaning no MK view.

The room at the Contemporary is $24 more per night, and while that's not a lot, I kind of feel like it would be pointless to pay even $5 more if it's not even the view we really wanted.

And so I told Kim that if it's still available we would prefer a room at the Poly with the view we want, and if not, then the room at the Contemporary will be fine.

Any comments, questions?
